We spend millions of dollars on our water supplies in the U.S. The reality is, is that our water supplies are depleting because of overuse of the main water services. If we were able to use recycled water our main water sources would remain replenished. With two sources of water (main and recycled) we would be able to save on the water we use.
The first system water from waste treatment plants (recycled water) would be used for toilet water, outdoor use/faucets, washers, etc.
The second water system, water sources that are presently being used (main water supply) would be for primary use, such as drinking water, cooking water, shower water, etc.
With these we would have to implement new piping for our main water source and the old piping would be left for our recycled water. This would help alleviate the lead problem some of our cities are now facing.
This is the fourth year of drought in California, California has not been able to keep up with water supply demands in these years. The government needs to be willing to intervene financially to provide whatever is needed to subsidize farms to decrease acreage growing crops to diversify water usage. I do not believe that farms should become controlled nor owned by corporate America. Reservoirs are being depleted due to the lack of rain. Water recycle programs need to be implemented. A second water supply should be created utilizing recycled water for secondary purposes in the home such as lawn care and flushing or route the recycled water to farms. Environmental agencies will be able to come up with a plan. TV networks need to partner with environmental agencies and get on board to educate the public and provide direction. We should not be drilling more wells. If we built the Alaskan pipeline and the Erie Canal, we should be able to figure something out. World Preservation Party cannot provide financial assistance, only awareness about these issues. We are currently accepting volunteers.
